DJ VERN SHANK ~ Owner
Vern Shank is the owner of Pyramid Disc Jockeys. He has been a professional DJ since 1985. He formed the company in Philadelphia, PA and began expanding its locations into New Jersey, Delaware and here in Florida and California.
Vern's ability to adapt to any type of event, theme, or style of music is one of his greatest strengths. He is very proficient in music from the 1940's to today's hottest hits. His crowd motivating technique and energy to get the party going is also a big part of what makes him a good DJ. He also teaches various dances and can incorporate that into your event.
From a formal intimate setting such as a wedding reception, to a large corporate business event, school dances or just a fun backyard party, Vern has the knowledge and skills to make any type of celebration a success.
DJ MIKE GRABNER ~ Manager
DJ Mike, born and raised in East Brunswick New Jersey, now currently resides in Ormond Beach Florida. His musical background is diverse and he has a strong musical background knowing the music of the 50’s, 60’s, 70's, 80's & 90’s to the new hottest hits of today. He also has a passion for music from the glam “hair band” rock of the 80’s such as Poison, his all time favorite, AC/DC, White Snake, Aerosmith, Europe, and many more. Also a keyboard musician, he can transform almost any 80’s rock and synth rifts on piano like Axel F, The Final Countdown, Tainted Love, Jump by Van Halen, Take on Me by A-Ha, and many more where he can get the party started as well. He has strong party motivating skills and likes to interact with the crowd on the dance floor to get the party going and to “ham it up” with the guests. DJ Mike has the knowledge and DJ skills to get your birthday, beach party, business function , school dance or wedding going, making it fun for you and for your guests. DJ RUDI REGIS
Rudi has been involved in the music business throughout his whole life. Also a musician, Rudi has played with dance, rock and funk bands in his earlier musical career including the J Silver Band that had a number of career successes. He then formed one of the hottest wedding bands on Long Island called Shiloh. They sang and played their hearts out for many events throughout the years. Moving to Florida, he continued in the music scene by not only performing, but also as a DJ entertainer. Utilizing his studies in music from Hofstra University in the Village of Hemstead on Long Island, NY, he began teaching courses at Keiser University as well as becoming a music teacher at Riverbend Academy in Florida and he is the music director at Crosswalk Church in Daytona Beach. Rudi is very proficient in the classics, as well as newer music and knows how to get the party started with lots of great dance music that will get your feet moving and grooving. He is a skilled Master of Ceremonies (Emcee) and is experienced in making all the proper announcements for your wedding, party or any celebration imaginable. Rudi is a very kind-hearted individual and really cares about you and in making your special event come to life.
DJ BOB BIGWOOD
Bob was born April 27th in Worcester, Massachusetts and moved to Florida in 1979. He began his DJ career in 1995 and has performed and entertained at over 500 weddings. Bob uses the latest, state of the art equipment with over 103,000 songs on hand at every event. He has been involved in every aspect of the wedding process from planning, to music and the coordination of the reception. In addition to DJ-ing weddings, parties, business functions and specialty events, Bob also has experience in voice over work for the Orlando Magic, Sunshine Sports Channel, as well as many radio and T.V. spots as well. With Bob's years of experience, great emceee skills and vast music knowledge, he is the perfect choice for your next wedding or event.
DJ DAVID MIKULKA
Dave is the newest DJ here at Pyramid Disc Jockeys. Born and raised in the area, Dave has always been surrounded by a diverse musical culture. Growing up, he immersed himself into many facets of music. His music career began at the tender age of six when his dad taught him how to play guitar. His father, a music buff, would often quiz Dave on the songs that were playing on the radio. This game expanded his song vocabulary exponentially providing him with a solid background of music both past and present. During high school, Dave was a member of both the school band and the jazz band, which prompted him to learn all pieces from Mozart to Beethoven, as well as the jazz standards of yesterday and today. David is also a sound technician and lighting specialist for bands, concerts and festivals and is the equipment tech guru of our company with current knowledge of all the latest DJ programs and sound gear including speakers, amplifiers, mixers and more. Even though David is the youngest member of our team, all of these musical ingredients combined make Dave a great choice for a really fun event or party.
DJ STEVE PALSER
DJ Steve Palser is originally from Philadelphia, PA. He has been a DJ for almost 15 years. His musical background is diverse and he is a very well rounded DJ entertainer. From the music of the 70's, 80's & 90's to the new hits of today, he is very proficient and knows how to "mix it up" . He also specializes in oldies from the 50's & 60's as well. Steve gained alot of his musical knowledge from the "City Of Brotherly Love" as he grew up all around the entertainment industry. DJ Steve divided his time, for years, between DJing and being in the heart of the city of Philly, as he worked with the sideline security team for the Philadelphia Eagles football franchise. He also worked security for many popular musical acts that came through the Philadelphia area for concerts. His love for music and his connections allowed him the luxury to meet many popular acts face to face while protecting those bands and artists in concert as their personal security. Through the years he also was a club DJ in the very popular Tom & Jerry's nightclub in the surrounding metro area along with DJ Vern. Steve moved to Florida in 1999 and now divides his time between being in the airline industry and being a full-time DJ. Steve knows how to make a party "come alive" with his very funny outgoing personality and his love for entertaining. Steve is considered Pyramid DJ's "class clown" and will definately make your special party, wedding or corporate function a real "blast" !!!
DJ CHRIS MILLER
DJ Chris Miller is originally from the Atlanta, GA area. Chris got an early start DJing at the East Village Grill at The Lodge playing customers' requests and learning how to properly read the crowd to play the appropriate music at the right times. Although DJing for many years before, Chris has been a full-time DJ since 1992. Chris specializes in the classics, as well as, staying on top of all the latest music and trends. From background dinner music, through oldies, beach tunes, rock 'n roll, reggae, big band, top 40, country and western to today's "thumping" dance tracks, Chris has the knowledge to meet all of your expectations for your special event. Chris also has a background in sound systems to assure you of the best fidelity available. DJ KORT BANKS
Kort was born in Seaford, Delaware graduating from Seaford Senior High School. Through those years after high school he began to appreciate all types of music. Kort made his move to Sunny Florida and started exploring the entertainment scene in the area. It was his love for music that made him want to get into the disc jockey business. Kort has an extensive knowledge of rock, pop, top-40 as well as a love for country music which is his specialty. When it comes time for your wedding, Kort's laid-back personality sets the bride and groom's mind at ease. He is very eager and easy to work with and creates a professional, sophisticated mood. Kort's style appeals to events that desire a smooth approach where the music matters most. In other words, Kort "let's the music do the talking" and creates a refined ambiance for your special event. When not DJing, Kort is the Food & Beverage Director at Daytona Beach Regency / Diamond Resorts in Daytona Beach, Florida. Between his music knowledge and event experience, Kort has the expertise to help make your special occasion a memorable one.
DJ JEFF RANKIN
Jeff has been in music since the age of 6 when he was first given a guitar and drum set. He has been playing music ever since. Jeff has taken guitar as his main focus in music growing up. He incorporated Chorus in the mix of things learning to use his voice. Jeff went to school in Zweibruchen, Germany and was playing in a group called The Way and was asked by Geffen Records at the age of 16 to cut a single. Unfortunately everyone in the group was under the age of 18 and their parents would not let them go to New Mexico and leave high school to do this one and great thing that comes once in a lifetime. Jeff left Germany and continued his adventures in Metro Washington D.C. playing in many places like the popular Hammerjacks and Steel Town. Music had changed in 1994 so he went on to learning mixing and the production of various types of music. Jeff's background has been very elaborate considering he has so many different flavors of music that he likes. He enjoys Bach, Beethoven all the way to rock and roll's greats like The Steve Miller Band, ELO, Sammy Hagar, and let's not forget one of the greatest bands of all time, Van Halen. As time went on he continued to mature and encompass his mind with all art of music from R & B's KC & JoJo, Boyz 2 Men, Usher and the Hip Hop greats like Nelly, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, DMX and of course the undisputed RUN DMC. Basically, to sum it all up, Jeff has been an entertainer for years and with the knowledge of music and mixing, he has become a DJ that can create a party to give you memories to last a lifetime with eternal smiles.
